Steps to complete the ISSF Stainless Steel Specialist Course:

  1. Enrol in the ISSF Stainless Steel Specialist Course

Choose a level of qualification – Intermediate Certificate (5 modules) or Full Certificate (12 modules).

You can pay for the course in full when you enrol or pay for one training note at a time.

Secure payment for enrolment can be made on the site. When your payment details have been processed (this may take from 10 minutes to three working days) you will receive confirmation that your payment has been accepted.

  2. Access the Student ID Centre

Once enrolled in the course you will receive your own user name and a password by email. Use this username and password to log in to the “Student ID Centre". Keep this information handy for future access.

  3. Study modules

Study modules in your own time and at your own speed. From the “Student ID Centre" you will have the option of choosing either of two training delivery methods.

The e-learning training option delivers the course online with interactive audio, animations and images. Each module is delivered directly from the internet and will guide you through the course with questions at the end of each chapter.

The download and learn option allows you to download each module in which you have enrolled - this option includes a “Training Note” and “Question Booklet” in portable document file [PDF] format. You must download and save each module to your computer before printing them.

  4. Submitting answers for assessment

If you chose the e-learning training option, log on to the Student ID Centre using your user name and password. You will be required to answer multiple choice and interactive questions online after each chapter. You will have the opportunity at the end of each chapter to improve your score. Once you proceed to the next chapter you cannot change your responses.

If you chose the download and learn option, log on to the Student ID Centre using your user name and password. Click on the "Take Assessment" button next to the title of the relevant module. This will take you to a multiple choice form where you click to select the ‘radio’ button to choose your answer. You will have the opportunity to review your responses before submitting them for assessment and to undertake an exam again if you wish.

    You can either:
  • submit answers as you complete each module or
  • submit answers for all your modules at the end of your studies

  1. Receive feedback

Your answers will be marked online and you will receive feedback via email giving you an indication of your performance. We keep your results confidential, unless you have agreed otherwise.

  2. Receive certificate

After successfully completing all the modules in which you have enrolled you will be able to download your personalised Certificate. To do this you return to the Student ID Centre and click on the "Send me my Certificate" button. Your certificate showing the modules you have undertaken and your level of achievement will be emailed to you. A minimum of five modules is required for the Intermediate Certificate and a minimum of twelve modules are required for the Full Certificate.

Please note that the "Send me my Certificate" button does not appear on screen until you have completed all the modules in which you have enrolled and obtained a pass or credit result.
